General Description of Position:  Responsible for providing administrative support duties for the libraries and other academic support services (tutoring, academic support centers, writing centers, supplemental instruction, IvyPrep). Assists the director in organizing and maintaining high-quality, efficient, and effective libraries and academic support services in the region. Often serves as first point of contact for students seeking academic support. Work requires solid computer and excellent customer service skills.
Major Responsibilities:

 

Serve as a primary contact for students, advisors, and faculty to ask about library and other academic support services.

Coordinate office activities for the libraries and academic support areas, including the collection and processing of timesheets and writing center and tutoring documentation.

Serve as Library/Academic Support Services liaison to HR, coordinating hiring committees and any associated tasks approved by HR to facilitate timely and accurate employee processing and documentation.

Serve as schedule facilitator for the libraries and regional academic support service areas.

Serve as IvyPrep contact person for the region.

Order materials and supplies for libraries and academic support services.

Oversee the collection of statistics for the libraries and academic support services, including computer labs, writing centers, tutoring, and supplemental instruction.

Assist in recruiting efforts for tutors and supplemental instruction participants.

Assist the director with the library and academic support services budgets by tracking funds and keeping director informed.

Assist in the supervision and training of part-time staff and work study students in the libraries and computer labs.

Prepare reports and spreadsheets as needed for the Libraries, IvyPrep, Supplemental Instruction, and other academic support areas.

Assist with maintenance of regional library website as needed.

Performs other duties as requested by library director.

The above listed functions require various degrees of independence, judgment and discretion, and the ability to be mobile in the office and/or work area.

Minimum Qualifications:  Associate’s degree in business and/or computer-related area
Preferred Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s degree in English, business, and/or computer-related area

Office experience

Supervisory experience
