General Description of Position:

Facilitate all aspects of the recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and registrar processes for ASAP students. Coordinate, under the supervision of the Senior Director of Learning Communities, the strategic planning related to all enrollment management within ASAP. Collaborate with the Associate Director of Curriculum & Instruction regarding student retention and support.

Major Responsibilities:

Customer Service

* Provide strong customer service and/or student advocacy as demonstrated through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem solving and desire to identify and support student success.

* Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported.

* Does not stop with the first or easiest answer to a customer, but gets to the root cause of the problem, question, or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possible.

Recruitment/Admissions Related Responsibilities:

• Develop annual and long-range enrollment targets for ASAP and implement innovative recruitment strategies in collaboration with campus administration and faculty and other appropriate entities, both internal and external.

• Review, analyze and evaluate recruitment efforts and devise enhancements consistent with enrollment goals based on annual and long-range targets.

• Supervise (and participate in) recruiting services, personal contacts, college fairs, middle/high school visits, information events, community activities, and written communication which includes organized/systematic mailing of informational literature.

• Coordinate recruitment functions with other College services such as orientation, assessment, registration, financial aid, business office, and other related functions at the campus.

• Oversee the development and implementation of communication and information tools to prospective students.

• Develop collaborative relationships and outreach with area middle and high schools, colleges/universities and community agencies and organizations to expand the College’s recruitment services to prospective students.

• Participate in community service, service learning, and civic engagement projects and activities as deemed appropriate and relevant to ASAP community initiatives.

• Be the primary lead for the coordination of ASAP-specific events, both internal and external, including but not limited to the student orientation process, semester performance celebrations, community partner functions, End-of-Year (EoY) celebrations, etc.

• All other duties as assigned, consistent with commonly accepted practices and as deemed relevant and necessary to the position, the program, and its students.

Registrar Related Responsibilities:

• Manage the technical aspects of registration, e.g., security, enrollment controls, prerequisite screening, repeat rules.

• Ensure academic records are complete.

• Produce in-house forms and documents.

• Build courses and assign instructors based on enrollment and space resources, and academic loading policies, respectively.

• Convey and apply FERPA laws in the administration of records.

• All other duties as assigned, consistent with commonly accepted practices and as deemed relevant and necessary to the position, the program, and its students.

Financial Aid Related Responsibilities:

Answer questions and assist with inquiries and completion of items related to:

• the application for financial aid (FAFSA)

• verification

• loan program eligibility and requirements

• standards of progress

• state and federal awards

• scholarships

• work-study opportunities

• veteran benefits

• Pell lifetime eligibility

• questions regarding the financial implications of repeating coursework

•All other duties as assigned, consistent with commonly accepted practices and as deemed relevant and necessary to the position, the program, and its students.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Two years of relevant experience.

• Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer at least two years of direct experience in one or more of the following: registration, records, financial aid, admissions, or higher education.

• Demonstrated leadership qualities preferred.

• Master’s degree.

• Ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and in which every individual feels respected and valued.
