|General Description of Position:
|| Provide eligible students with notes from class lectures. Provide reading services for students with disabilities
Taking dictation/recording answers for quizzes/tests/examinations.
Describing visual information.
Assisting with in-class assignments.
Conduct note taking for all assigned classes/students.
Take notes during class lectures for students receiving disability accommodations. Must write legibly.
Use paper and pen that reproduces well on a standard copier (avoid pale ink colors).
Make copies of the notes on the DSS copier.
Deliver notes to DSS on the same day the notes are taken.
Provide training on equipment designed to assist with reading i.e. Kurzweil
Reading aloud academically required materials.
Provide reading services as requested by DSS for students receiving this accommodation.
Follow all lab safety procedures.
Physical manipulation of lab materials as described by student.
Adjusting/moving of lab equipment as described by student.
Taking dictation for lab recording of data and completion of worksheets during lab.
Provide clerical assistance to the office of DSS as requested.
Maintain log of services provided to students.
Maintain student confidentiality.
Other duties as assigned.
|| • Currently enrolled Ivy Tech Community College (Richmond/Connersville Region).
• Successful completion of English developmental course work.
• If applicant is a current student, a Grade Point Average of 2.0 is required.
• Ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
• Experience taking notes in a college setting.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to work a flexible schedule.
