General Description of Position:  Provides excellent customer service and assists the librarian by providing paraprofessional library and academic support, including test scheduling and proctoring for make-up and distance education tests. Work requires independent judgment and skills in operation of a variety of educational technologies and functional expertise in common library duties.
Major Responsibilities:

 

Assists patrons with circulation and locating materials on the shelf and on-line.

Provide excellent technical support including; email, Microsoft Office, Library resources, Blackboard, course specific software.

Maintain CASS system.

Manage, log, and conduct test proctoring.

Shelves new/returned materials and regularly maintains library classification order by reading shelves and relocating misplaced items.

Keeps statistical information as required for library usage and material counts.

Maintains office supply inventory and report needs in a timely manner.

Performs other duties as requested by Instructional Library and Tutoring and ASC Coordinator.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Must be able to stoop, stand, and kneel, for extended periods of time.

Includes evening and weekend hours.

The above listed functions require various degrees of independence, judgment and discretion, and the ability to be mobile in the office and/or work area.

Minimum Qualifications:  

High School graduate or equivalent required.

Over two (2) years of related experience in a computerized work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:  Associate's Degree preferred.
