Executive Director, Financial Analysis

General Description of Position: The primary purpose of the position includes IRS reporting, GASB compliance monitoring, assisting in the preparation of the annual financial report and financial analysis on behalf of the Assistant Vice President of Budget Management and the Sr. Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Major Responsibilities:

Organizes and continually improves all aspects of budget preparation, reporting and analysis including collection, review and consolidation of budget submissions from campuses and Systems Office, analysis of budget and actual results, and forecasting of future trends.

Monitors cash balances, budget balances, and projections to identify potential problem areas.

Institutes a high-level quarterly financial projection/forecast process.

Works closely with the campus and Systems Office leaders to provide assistance with financial modeling and analyses to support development of the budget and improve financial outcomes.

Completes financial analysis of accounts, programs, and initiatives as requested by the Assistant Vice President for Budget Management and Sr. Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Reviews changes and proposed changes to tax code and determine impact on the College.

Assists with various Federal, State and local tax issues.

Analyzes and advises on the impact to the College of new Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) financial reporting standards, changes to existing standards and proposed changes to GASB standards.

Reviews account balances which did not change from prior year and works with campuses to resolve.

In conjunction with the Executive Director of Financial Reporting, prepares the annual financial report.

Assists with SBOA audit and College debt accounting.

Prepares College debt issuance and disclosure statements.

Develops performance metrics and supervises work product of Grants Budget Accountant.

Monitors self-insurance activity and projects revenue and expenses.

Advises and provides training to campus and Systems Office staff related to tax, financial reporting, and analysis.

Collaborates with campus and Systems Office finance leadership to develop and improve financial processes, policies and procedures.

Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field, with three to five (3-5) years accounting experience is required.

Good written and oral communication skills required.

Experience with, Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA designation.

Banner expertise.

Supervisory experience is beneficial.
