General Description of Position: The Director of Facilities has responsibility for the building, grounds and equipment maintenance for all the Ivy Tech Community College's Muncie campus and New Castle facilities. In addition, the Director of Facilities is responsible for Ivy Tech custodial functions and shipping/receiving.
Major Responsibilities:

Manage facilities and grounds. Quickly and courteously responds to all concerns regarding the cleanliness of campus and safety concerns of campus. Assist the Executive Director of Facilities with the region's Facilities Planning and Fiscal Administration. Coordinate and repair damage of defects in walls, ceilings, windows, doors, etc., and perform minor remodeling and equipment relocation as approved. Maintain maintenance of building support systems. Coordinate shipping and receiving functions for all sites. Tag equipment for inventory, and complete related forms. Manage physical plant maintenance supplies. Supervise custodial and maintenance staff and assist with daily assignments. Sit on regional safety committee. Assist to insure compliance with IOSHA regulations and reporting. Assist in development and maintenance of hazardous material plans and material safety data sheets. Develop grounds maintenance plans, which ensure that the campuses are well groomed and are acceptable in appearance at all times, including mowing and snow removal. Coordinate with the statewide facilities team on vendor relationships, contract management and competitive sourcing. Ensure compliance with parking regulations. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent; Associate degree in related field or substantial equivalent work experience in the maintenance/custodial area is required. One year supervisory experience is required. Physical plant and grounds experience. Two years related work experience. Electrical and mechanical experience. Valid diver's license and meet insurability requirements under Ivy Tech Community College's driver insurance program.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
