General Description of Position: Provide support and assistance for the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Academic Skills Advancement; work independently to perform support functions for school chair, program chairs, full-time faculty, and adjunct faculty; and responsible for sensitive and confidential matters such as student issues, salaries, and budget information. Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and computing skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Major Responsibilities:

• Collect, file, and post faculty office and administrative hours
• Grades (prepare instructions for online distribution to all instructors and to review submissions of grades from all instructors to make certain all have been turned in on time)
• Collect from all instructors course syllabi and related materials in a timely manner at the start of each term
• Collect and process grade changes, incomplete grade forms, and recommendation consent forms
• Process payroll sheets (time sheets, verification of missed time/substitute pay/extra pay)
• Direct instructors and staff to the correct forms from Campus Documents/S drive and give hard copies as needed
• Put syllabi on SLAS S: Drive
• Make a computer disk of all syllabi for each semester for the Ivy Tech Library and Academic Affairs
• Make and post signs for class cancellations and/or room changes
• Log in and out department audio-video materials
• Distribute mail to mailboxes, etc.
• Request rooms and computer labs for study sessions, open labs, finals, or special events
• Perform special projects as assigned by the Dean and/or the Office Coordinator
• Answer phone, take messages for faculty and adjuncts
• Work in the front office of SLAS (1166 as needed)
• Provide support duties for faculty and adjuncts
• Order and distribute office supplies
• Schedule advising appointments for students with faculty (notify faculty of such appointments) using Outlook
• Create mailboxes for faculty, adjuncts, and staff each semester
• Issues keys as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in Office Administration or related area; excellent word processing, database, and spreadsheet computing skills; excellent organizational skills, decision making and problem solving skills; written communication and interpersonal skills;
Preferred Qualifications: Two years of related experience.
