General Description of Position: Collaborate with the Chancellor, Campus Deans, Assistant Director of Admissions, and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs to develop and maintain relationships with secondary education partners.

Provide leadership for Secondary Initiatives, in particular high school and college-based dual enrollment.

Coordinate and manage the daily operations of K-14 initiatives, to include, but not limited to: aligning high school dual credit offerings with Ivy Tech dual enrollment, additional high school outreach and initiatives, and all evolving K-14 partnerships.

Work under the direction of the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Chancellor, and/or Dean of University and Transfer Division, to identify and facilitate new dual credit and/or dual enrollment agreements, maintain current dual credit and/or dual enrollment agreements, manage student admission, prerequisite testing, registration, and academic advising.
Support Dean with collection of need documentation for credentialing of dual credit faculty.

Support the Assistant Director of Admissions in outreach activities with high school partners. Represent the College statewide at professional development/workshops pertaining to high school initiatives.

Communicate and educate high school partners (administrators, faculty, guidance counselors, and staff), high school students, and high school parents about dual credit/dual enrollment opportunities, including, but not limited to, the Transfer General Education Core, and/or other seamless pathways into Ivy Tech Community College and stay abreast of educational and community issues.
Major Responsibilities: Provide leadership for enrollment activities and advising services for high school dual credit and dual enrollment students;

Implement college policy and procedures related to secondary programs, including adherence to NACEEP requirements;

Communicate regularly with high school dual credit instructors, guidance counselors, and with students and parents in these programs;

Work in partnership with the Chancellor, Deans and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs or designee regarding contact with the administrative leadership of the local school districts and individual high schools;

Serve on the Campus Secondary Initiative Committee with the Chancellor, Campus Deans, Assistant Director of Admissions and the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs;

Provide ongoing academic advising support for dual credit and dual enrollment students;

Represent the Columbus Campus on statewide dual credit committees;

Participate in orientation and faculty development for dual credit and dual enrollment Ivy Tech faculty;

Advise dual credit students about academic degrees and transfer opportunities from Ivy Tech;

Consult with academic schools (Deans, Department Chairs, Support Staff) at the College to standardize procedures;

Uphold dual credit policies and procedures for the Campus;

Monitor academic progress of assigned dual credit students;

Implement statewide informational/promotional materials for Secondary Initiatives;

Collaborate with Marketing to develop promotional and informational pieces for students and parents;

Provide oversight for the application, course enrollment, and grade reporting process with high schools;

Coordinate with the College Assessment Center for ACCUPLACER testing and/or review of SAT/ACT scores;

Maintain, update, and distribute Secondary Initiative resource materials to college and high school personnel;

Manage recordkeeping system;

Maintain system to track existing Secondary Initiative agreements;

Coordinate with advising staff and other college staff to assist with delivering, collecting, and entering course registrations;
Oversee maintenance of database to track and report Secondary Initiative registrations each semester;

Prepare reports and evaluations of Secondary Initiative programs;

Oversee database maintenance of faculty and teachers involved in dual credit and dual enrollment courses.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required;
  • A minimum of 2 years related work and supervisory experience;
  • Must possess a willingness and ability to travel
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in education or a related field
  • Teaching and/or administrative experience in the K-12 school system
  • Teaching and/or administrative experience in community colleges
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects
  • Attention to detail
