General Description of Position:

Provide administrative support to the Office of the Registrar on the Michigan City and Valparaiso campuses. Responsible for assisting students, faculty and staff on matters involving student records.

Major Responsibilities: Process course registrations, student information changes, grade changes, test score/waiver entry, program changes, etc. Provide accurate and timely information to students, faculty, and staff. Scan and electronically index student files. Create, run and save enrollment and graduation reports. Support enrollment and retention initiatives within and outside of department. Prepare and send communications to students, faculty, and staff. Adherence to rules of confidentiality and FERPA (Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act) Regulation. Uphold integrity and data quality of the Registrar’s Office, Michigan City and Valparaiso campuses, and Ivy Tech Community College. The above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to work with attention to detail, confidentiality and integrity. Technical Certificate or higher in Business Administration, Office Administration or related field OR one or more years of experience in an office setting. Skilled in Microsoft Office – especially Excel. Strong communication and customer service skills. Aptitude for thinking creatively and resourcefully to solve problems.

Fully supports the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Skilled in Banner 8 or Banner 9. Overall tech-savvy. Previous experience in a college or university records office.

Other Requirements:

Official college transcripts required upon hiring, and employment contingent on acceptable criminal background checks.

Work Hours:

Day, evening and/or Saturday classes, ask hiring manager for hours.
