|General Description of Position:
||The part-time lab technician will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the HVAC lab and will provide instructional support services for HVAC classes in the School of Technology. The technician will be responsible for maintaining a safe clean work environment and will also assist the students with lab-activities to strengthen skills.
Assist and manage lab activities for students who utilize the HVAC lab equipment.
Provide strong customer service and/or student advocacy in the HVAC lab.
Provide instructional support for students who utilize the lab. In addition, ensure students' safety and prevention of undesired occurrences.
Assist in the distribution and operation of the tools and equipment.
Perform equipment setups required for class work and laboratory sessions. Also, install and update training software when assigned.
Perform maintenance of inventory of supplies and equipment. Assist with the preparation of lab needs for instructional purposes to meet the course requirements.
Troubleshoot and repair inoperative training hardware in the industrial technology lab. When required, retrofit training hardware as per the manufacturer's specifications.
Transfer capital equipment via courier when necessary.
Maintain and organize School of Technology resource rooms in the lab as assigned.
Monitor and maintain safety posters (i.e. signage, PPE, fire extinguishers, stripping etc.) of the School of Technology areas.
||Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in HVAC and/or any combination of equivalent work experience required. Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and accuracy to detail. Must be willing to work with diverse population. Must be able to work well with the students on an individual and group basis.
