General Description of Position:

At the direction of the Executive Director of Marketing, Web and Creative Services, this position is part of Ivy Tech’s marketing hub, an internal marketing agency for Ivy Tech campuses and departments.

The position will manage Ivy Tech’s online entities and presences, including websites, social media platforms, and mobile application.

The position will be responsible for developing, vetting, and executing the College’s organic (non-paid), online digital strategy.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for conducting regular maintenance of assigned websites; including content updates, accessibility, troubleshooting issues, identifying and fixing broken links, and web standards compliance.

Responsible for knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.) and how each platform can be deployed and exploited to support Ivy Tech’s recruitment efforts.

Works closely and collaborates with IT to serve as a point-person for marketing on major projects.

Collaborates with IT and other SME’s to effectively manage the marketing side of MyIvy.

Creates and implements responsive landing pages; continues the upkeep and development of the current websites; provides technical support and training for new content and functionality.

Assists in the development and implementation of content, responsible for ensuring accurate information is displayed on the online entities.

Collaborates within creative services team.

Responsible for adherence to Ivy Tech brand guidelines on all online media.

Represents marketing on various committees.

Collaborates with Marketing Statewide Strategy team for ideas and presentations.

Ensures deadlines and timelines are met as it relates to delivery of items and projects.

Responsible for updating and communicating social media policies to the College on a regular basis.

Has ownership of social media comments, if needed, nights, weekends and holidays, and during College closures.

Serves as back-up to design and content positions.

Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned.

Supervision Given: None; may have opportunity to supervise interns.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, multimedia or related field and one to three years relevant experience required (higher education preferred).

Must have working knowledge of web content management systems and HTML/CSS; knowledge of design trends for higher education.

Must possess strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office applications; and ability to use industry-standard graphics and multimedia software packages. Knowledge of analytical tools such as Google Analytics and Falcon required.

Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to be self-motivated, deadline driven and extremely detail oriented including capability to readily adapt to changes in workflow.

Initiative and aptitude to learn new skills and technologies, superior troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills are required.

Demonstrates ability to take direction well and be flexible about file-sharing; understanding of web production process and web content and social media management systems.

Demonstrates strong problem solving skills; excellent color acuity; and ability to be a team player and work alongside colleagues and clients.

Must have knowledge of web layout, aesthetics and usability principles.
