General Purpose:

Ivy Tech Madison has a need for a part time C.N.C. Machining Instructor to teach non-credit/workforce development classes.

Instruction is provided using curriculum meeting the requirements of the National Institute for Metalworking Skill, Inc. (NIMS). Haas milling and turning equipment is used for instruction.

Major Responsibilities:

 

  • Ability to implement the NIMS curriculum to prepare students for the theory and hands-on NIMS credential testing.
  • Assist students in the use of computer based training.
  • Monitor student performance to promote completion of the training program.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of ages and skill levels.
  • Work experience & personal C.N.C. machining skills to support teaching the content for courses.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NIMS– Mill and Lathe credentialing is preferred.
  • Those without NIMS credentials will also be considered but must be willing to become certified.
  • Teaching experience preferred, but not required.
