General Description of Position:

The Educational Technologist is responsible for providing educational technology support for faculty, students, and staff. The position works collaboratively with the other educational technology staff to ensure timely and accurate responses to support requests as well as supporting appropriate professional development, content development, and educational technology projects as directed by the educational technology coordinator. The Educational Technologist is also responsible for assisting with support for IvyOnline as needed.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for Tier 1 and 2 helpdesk support for educational technology for students, faculty and staff.

Responsible for educational technology training and professional development efforts or students, faculty and staff as directed by the Educational Technology Coordinator.

Responsible for supporting faculty with the identification, implementation, and use of educational technology in the classroom or online.

Responsible for supporting faculty with the development of course materials including but not limited to: learning resources and activities, multimedia and interactive learning objects, and assessment using the learning management system or other tools.

Supports the Educational Technology Coordinator with matters related to online learning at the College as part of the statewide Educational Technology team.

Supports the Educational Technology Coordinator with matters related to the local campus including participation at special events and other functions.

Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

An Associate's degree required.

Demonstrated familiarity with various digital learning platforms such as learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, etc.), publisher platforms (Pearson’s MyLabs\Mastering, McGraw-Hill Connect, Cengage MindTap, etc.), and other platforms required.

Demonstrated familiarity with technology-based communications such as email, instant messaging (Slack, Teams, Hangouts), synchronous collaboration tools (GoToMeeting, Zoom) required.

Must have excellent oral, written and technology-based communication skills and excellent customer service skills.

Must demonstrate ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and projects required.

Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

Work experience in higher education experience.
