General Description of Position: The Assistant Vice President for K-14 Initiatives and Statewide Partnerships, working with the Vice President of K-14 Initiatives and Statewide Partnerships, will proactively lead college strategies toward development of valued partnerships between K-12, career centers and the College. Responsible for providing leadership in development and implementation of strategic initiatives serving our K-12 partners. Coaches and supports campus teams to increase strategic plan metrics and completion-focused outcomes. Serves as a statewide champion for the implementation of the communication plan in partnership with chancellors and campus teams.
Major Responsibilities:

Lead strategies and tactical implementation toward valued partnerships between K-14, career center and the College resulting in student credential and pathway completions.

Collaborate with partners across campuses in designing, developing, implementing and evaluating statewide K-14 efforts.

Coach and support K-14 team members in development of completion-focused educational pathways for dual credit and/or dual enrollment programming specific to the needs of high school and career center students.

Mobilize K-14 campus teams to work with superintendents, school principals, area career directors, counselors, and other educators to promote the College’s K-14 education initiatives.

Unify the efforts of the College’s Academic Affairs, Workforce & Career, and K-14 teams and personnel to accomplish the strategic objectives of the K-14 education initiatives.

Lead visionary, implementation, and evaluative initiatives (strategy and tactical), including special projects, which may require cross-functional engagement with key staff across the organization, and with external stakeholders, as appropriate. Seeks and implements innovative ways to remove visionary and implementation obstacles. Ensures team outcome-focused accountability.

Develop a succinct, focused and continuing communication plan designed specifically for K-14 partners outlining the benefits of Ivy Tech’s comprehensive programming. Serve as a statewide champion for the implementation of the communication plan in partnership with chancellors and campus teams.

Team with the College’s marketing & communications personnel to develop a target market based marketing plan informing timelines for print, visual, marketing, and advertising materials for K-14 education initiatives.

Lead the College’s dual credit re-accreditation process, including data collection and reporting requirements.

Collaborate with campus campuses to develop incubators for innovative educational initiatives and support training/staff development programs for Ivy Tech campus personnel that will strengthen and expand the strategies that target the enrollment of younger students.

Assist in recruiting and collaborating with government, business and industry, and other private sector sponsors to be contributing partners in the K-14 education initiative.

Strengthen relationships and build statewide strategies with state educational organizations, as directed by VP:
o Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents (IAPSS)
o Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP).
o Indiana School Boards Association (ISBA).
o Indiana Association of Career and Technical Education Directors (IACTED).
o Indiana Association of Career and Technical Educators (IACTE).
o Indiana School Counselor Association (ISCA) through their annual conference and
beyond.
o Indiana State Teachers Association (ISTA)

Supervision Received: Vice President of K-14 Initiatives and Statewide Partnerships

Minimum Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in education or related field required.

Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and record of providing leadership in educational innovation and improvement.

At least five years of senior-level administrative experience in secondary education is required.

Must be results oriented and possess strong collaboration, written and verbal communication skills.

Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.

Preferred Qualifications: Earned Doctorate in administration or related field.
