General Description of Position:

The Tutor Center Assistant Coordinator in the daily operations of the Tutor Center, including routine decision-making in the areas of the collection of Center usage statistics, tutor orientation and training.  Position reports to Library Director or designee.

Major Responsibilities:

Assist the Tutor Center Coordinator in scheduling tutors prior to the start of a term; assists in revising the schedule as needed thereafter.

Assist the Tutor Center Coordinator in identifying and hiring subject area part-time tutors.

Facilitate IvyPrep/EdReady services to students.

Assist Tutor Center Coordinator in maintaining a Tutor Center webpage used for posting tutor schedules and related information.

Serve as a subject tutor for a significant portion of weekly hours.  (Administrative duties may require up to 20% of work time on average).

Assist Tutor Center Coordinator in managing the Tutor Center tracking application.

Explain and enforce Tutor Center rules, registration procedures, and services to students and tutors as necessary.

Participate in community service, service learning, and civic engagement projects and activities as deemed appropriate by the Chancellor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree (or 60+ credit hours of relevant undergraduate coursework including coursework in the tutoring subject). 

Must be computer literate and possess excellent communication and customer service skills, and have the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty and staff.
