General Description of Position: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources and/or designee, the incumbent will provide general assistance to the Human Resources Department, including the Executive Director of Human Resources and the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Belonging.
Major Responsibilities:
Posts open positions, update current positions, and process letters as needed in the recruitment program.

Utilizes the college’s HireRight on-line system to process criminal conviction and employment verification background checks. Utilize Indiana and National sexual offender registries to check for new hires. And process E-Verify forms.

Prepares offer letters for new employees, complete the employment process and establish personnel files.

Assists all new-hires in completing the employment process, verifying documents and maintaining materials needed.

Enters all new-hire data in Banner HR including general person, biographical, employment record, faculty rank, education, required benefits, and web services, enter related changes as needed.

Prepares correspondences for annual salary increase letters, and equity/other salary adjustments.

Provides verification of employment from phone, written, and employee requests and maintain verification file.

Maintains faculty credentialing records on file. Contact supervisors for missing original transcripts for part-time staff and Workforce Alignment adjunct faculty.

Maintains all employee files and file personnel-related documents including employment documents, performance appraisals, contracts, correspondence, professional development, etc. Maintain other employee records as necessary.

Assists with event planning such as community health fair, employee recognition luncheon, and open enrollment meetings.

Assists with employee benefits, confirmation and entering data into Banner.

Purges employee files to maintain current and previous year files in office.
Process non-employee personnel forms for dual credit entry.

Assist and input adjunct faculty agreements, part-time and work-study appointments employment data into the Banner system.

Orders and maintain office supplies.

Demonstrates confidentiality and trustworthiness at all times.

Organizes and maintain an accurate, detailed filing system.

Provides general office support, including answering the telephone.

Responds to unemployment claims.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in related field required.
Two years related work experience in Human Resources or equivalent required.
Computer experience required.
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
Must maintain confidential information.
Demonstrates strong customer service through a positive attitude of approach-ability, adaptability, strong problem-solving and desire to identify and support employee/student success.
Engages in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued, respected, and supported.
Goes beyond the easiest or surface answer for a customer, and get to the root cause of the problem, question or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possible.
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual, Spanish preferred

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
