General Description of Position:

The Assistant Director of International Students Services/DSO is the College’s subject matter for admitting and advising immigration policy for international students, as well as maintaining international student records and data in compliance with federal regulations and College policy for all C2 and C3 campuses. The Assistant Director of International Students Services/DSO is a resource for C2 and C3 campuses and works with campus and College stakeholders to ensure compliance requirements are met.

Major Responsibilities:

Maintains records in SEVIS for C2 and C3 campuses.

Collaborates with Risk Management regarding international student health insurance requirements.

Collaborates with the systems office finance team to ensure that international student fees are charged and collected appropriately for students and C2 and C3 campus.

Creates, edits, and maintains Banner records for international students on C2 and C3 campuses.

Reviews and evaluates third-party credential reports, financial resources, and English language proficiency of prospective F-1 students applying to C2 and C3 campuses to determine eligibility for admission and visa documentation (form I-20).

Remain current on federal regulations as well as best practices in International Education.

Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.

A minimum of 1-year of related experience, preferably in post-secondary education.

Must be adept at resolving individual and group conflicts, and must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must possess excellent organizational, planning, evaluation, and interpersonal skills.

Must have ability to partner well with colleagues both in and outside of the organization.

Must have the ability and willingness to travel within the state for work and occasional out-of-state travel for appropriate professional development.

Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
