General Description of Position:

The Director is responsible for all dual enrollment activities within the service area. They will build relationships with area high schools and develop targeted enrollment strategies to increase dual enrollment participation and expansion. This position will serve as the lead academic advisor for all high school dual enrollment students ensuring the successful completion of their dual enrollment courses. The Director will also develop transitional enrollment strategies and events to increase the number of students transitioning from high school dual credit and dual enrollment programs to Ivy Tech Community College upon high school graduation. The position coordinates with internal college partners while working directly with high school staff and students to build strategic partnerships and develop strategies which assist high schools in transitioning students into career pathways at Ivy Tech. Responsibilities include supervising and supporting the College Connection Coaches and other K-14 Initiatives staff in planning and implementing events and projects with the specific purpose of transitioning high school students into programs of study available at Ivy Tech.   

 

This staff position will work directly with and report to the Executive Director of K-14 Initiatives.

Major Responsibilities:

Serves as the lead point of contact and academic advisor for all dual enrollment students within the Ivy Tech Central Indiana service area.

Develop relationships with area high schools and serve as the lead resource person for all dual enrollment programming developed in conjunction with those schools.

Plan and develop a comprehensive plan for the conversion of dual credit and dual enrollment students into Ivy Tech Community College upon high school graduation.

Develop plans with high school partners with the goal of combining dual credit and dual enrollment course credits into a certificate/career pathway completion prior to high school graduation.

Work with internal and external partners in the development of transition events for high school students highlighting the benefits of attending Ivy Tech Community College.

Supervise College Connection Coaches and other K-14 Initiatives staff.

Act as liaison to other departments pertinent to the process including Admissions, Advising, Registrar, Associate Accelerated Degree Program, Career Coaching and Employer Connections, Campus Site Administrators, etc.

Track and collect data on student transition in coordination with Institutional Research.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Prior experience working in a secondary or post-secondary educational environment

Engage in behaviors that demonstrate a commitment to diversity and create an inclusive environment where all people are valued and supported

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree

Experience providing advising or counseling services to high school or college students
