Serves as the college’s principal resource for administration of student financial aid programs, including serving as the college’s contact person for federal, state and private agencies on financial aid matters.
Directs the statewide administration of financial aid programs and ensures that all programs are administered according to regulations, procedures and eligibility, including developing policies and establishing necessary internal controls.
Provides vision and direction for financial aid administration that supports the college’s strategic plan, including projecting annual utilization rates for financial aid and monitoring funding to ensure maximum utilization and proper expenditure of funds.
Contributes to student satisfaction and retention through delivery of quality customer service in all aspects of the administration of student financial aid. This includes ensuring that the team provides sensitive counseling, clear information, and prompt responses in an effective and empathic manner.
Develops strategies to track data looking for indicators around retention and new students to assist with enrollment management.
Ensures mandated reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner (FISAP, eCar, E-app and any other reports required by regulators/administrators).
Analyzes changes to legislation regarding financial aid, veterans affairs, cash management, and college and private donor scholarships to determine how changes will impact the college and advises college senior administration on policy positions and advocacy regarding student financial aid.
Determines and delivers in-service programs to ensure staff are well versed in all areas of financial aid programs.
Implements new financial aid programs and develops procedures for the new programs.
Provides the highest quality oversight of financial aid expenditures, including continuous monitoring, providing documentation for all federal and state financial aid audits and working with appropriate campus and systems office staff to coordinate the college’s response to the audits.
Ensures compliance of veterans benefits recipients and financial aid recipients with the college academic standards as required by federal regulations.
Advances the use of technology in the administration of financial aid, including working collaboratively with Information Technology personnel to ensure the best use of technology in meeting state and federal mandates.
Maintains and continuously improves financial aid data, information, applications and forms including Ivy Tech web pages.
Exhibits leadership and decision-making that gains support for financial aid by key stakeholders.
Provides excellent customer service to colleagues in a thorough and transparent manner.
