General Description of Position: |
The Director of Marketing & Public Relations oversees and manages both internal and external communications for the Madison Campus. This position collaborates with both Systems Office Marketing/Creative Services and campus leaders to create effective marketing strategies and tactics to increase campus’ enrollment and completions; highlight student and alumni success; and seek philanthropic support. The Director also provides support for the campus’ partnership with the Indiana Department of Correction.

Major Responsibilities: |
- Creates communication strategies and supports implementation of those strategies in collaboration with numerous departments across campus including but not limited to: Chancellor’s Office, student affairs, K14, academic affairs, career coaching and employer connections; and foundation.
- Works with the media, government officials, school and community partners for the purpose of informing the public of the mission of Ivy Tech Community College; and the campus’ policies and practices in a positive, consistent and credible manner.
- Creates, distributes and manages external media relations including press releases, media pitches and media inquiries and coordinates with Ivy Tech’s statewide marketing efforts.
- Provides strategic content for the campus’ social media and website.
- Manages internal and external project timelines in collaboration with Creative Services for the production of art; printed materials and website updates.
- Specifically develops and manages internal and external communications plans involving call campaigns (Blackboard); email; direct mail; ad placements; and digital campaigns (Statwax).
- Assists with presentations, both building and messaging.
- Produces a quarterly e-newsletter and other communications to specialized audiences such as: Campus Board of Trustees; Indiana Department of Correction leadership; donors and others.
- Manages program content for commencement events.
- Assists with messaging for awards programs and ceremonies.
- Provides support for special events, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: |
- Associate degree, Bachelor degree or higher Degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Liberal Arts or a related field.
- Must be able to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong foundation in communications and marketing competencies, including brand development, market research, marketing planning, and measurement/analytics.
- Previous experience with use of e-newsletter software, preferred.
- Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and in which every individual feels respected and valued.
- Must work well in a team environment.

Pay/Benefits: |
Pay range of $1,850 - $2,000 per pay over 26 pays a year. Ivy Tech employees have access to a variety of health and welfare benefits. Other information: |
This position is will remain in effect a minimum of four years or as long as the Madison campus maintains the Statewide IDOC contract. This position will be part of the Chancellor's Cabinet.
