General Description of Position:

The Assistant Director of Recruitment and Admissions assists in the development and execution of a recruitment plan to build relationships with prospective Ivy Tech Community College students through enrollment.

Major Responsibilities:

Participate in recruiting efforts on- and off-campus including: college fairs, high school visits, employer visits, information events, and community activities.  Such events take place both during regular business hours and after hours (evenings and weekends).

Recruit on behalf of Ivy Tech, sharing and selling the benefits of the Community College in order to meet the goal of increasing the number of inquiries and applicants to the College along with the conversion of those inquiries and applicants to help move students through the enrollment process.

Manage, effectively track and recruit potential student groups with the use of a client relationship management (CRM) tool.   Use the CRM to assess the effectiveness of various recruitment efforts and make adjustments based on intake and conversion numbers.

Responsible for keeping current with academic and student affairs program changes.

Understand what attributes resonate with different target audiences and adjust recruitment practices and efforts based on those different audiences.

Assist with the development of collaborative relationships with local schools, colleges/universities, community agencies, employers, and organizations as they relate to the implementation of the campus recruitment plan.

Work closely with internal Ivy Tech personnel to coordinate overall recruitment opportunities effectively.  Such personnel may include: marketing departments, K-14 coordinators, Accelerated Associate Program staff, college connection coaches, campus presidents, academic chairs, 21st Century Scholar representatives, and Honors College recruiters

Works with the dual credit staff to support students’ enrollment in dual credit courses and completion of educational pathways while in high school.

Assist with the development of admissions and recruitment related materials and disseminate such materials in coordination with other campus and statewide communications and recruitment efforts

Develops and convenes regularly scheduled small group sessions for students throughout the academic year. These sessions are structured as informal group check-ins and as workshops designed to help students navigate the college environment, access resources, and build a network of peer support. (i.e. program specific groups, financial aid workshops, ACT & SAT information, ITCC assessment information)

Coaches students on the transition from high school to college to work.

Implements student career workshops, which may involve on-campus activities, tours, industry visits, and other experiential learning opportunities.

Develops and delivers annual orientation for new student participants and a summer series of college preparation and team building workshops.

This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree required

Minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience preferred.

Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects required. 

Must possess excellent relationship building skills including working successfully with diverse populations, including (but not limited to) college and school personnel, teachers and prospective students. 

Must possess effective communication skills (phone, email, and written) and experience in public speaking.  Proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) is required; experience with a Customer Relationship Management tool is preferred. 

Must be able lift 50 pounds, have a valid driver’s license, be willing and an able to travel, and work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.

Proficiency in [input another language based on community demographics] is a plus (as applicable based upon campus needs).

Preferred Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.

Hiring Range:

$37,000 - $42,000
