General Description of Position:

* This position assists in maintaining the physical operation of the service area in a safe, secure, attractive, and clean condition. This position is also responsible for the supervision of the Events Team
* The Assistant Director of Building Operations  will have direct supervision over the Custodial and Events Teams as well as the college’s contracted custodial services provider
* This position has direct supervision over employees that perform custodial and room /event setups via a work order system.
* This position reports to the Director of Building Operations and is responsible for all housekeeping operations with a strong emphasis on supervising the in-house workforce and contracted workforce.

* This position will be responsible for quality control for cleaning services, including all internal employees and external contracted services
* This position will develop a work force that has well-defined tasks and performs to top efficiency.

Major Responsibilities:

* Oversees the Building Operations and custodial staff to make sure the building and campus grounds are maintained; oversees work order system.
* Serve as a backup for the Director of Building Operations
* Oversee work order system and trains teams in appropriate use also maintains quality responsibility for completion of work orders within acceptable time limits
* Researches and provides input on purchases, services and supplies from outside vendors for the Building Operations team .
* Manage all pest control programs
* Maintain the system for purchasing uniforms for all Administrative Services team members.

*  Maintain, assess and recommend improvements to the existing buildings floor mats, carpet repair and cleaning, restroom accessories, recycling equipment, and tools used by staff

Develop scopes of work for all housekeeping in individual buildings including, but not limited to:
* Trash and Recycling program
* Placement of trash and recycling bins
* Stocking and storage of housekeeping materials
* Chemicals and tools for cleaning
* PPE for in-house staff
* Auditing of cleanliness
* Auditing of all workforce's performance

* Events set ups and placement of tables and chairs for events scheduled through the work order system.

* Understand all housekeeping scopes as laid out in leases at campuses that are leased

Develop recycling program that includes, but is not limited to:
* Monitoring waste stream of volumes and publishing same for the school
* Interactions with all users to communicate for system improvements
* Signage for all users and guests

Works closely with all leadership within Administrative Services as well as with all team members. 


Minimum Qualifications:

* Associate degree in related field, or 5+ years’ experience in similar environment.  

* Prior supervision is required.  

* Must be detail orientated, able to multi-task, and give clear/concise direction as well as take direction.   

* Must be able to make quick decisions.  

* Must work well under potentially stressful conditions.  

* Must thrive in a team environment but must also work on own initiative.
