A qualified full-time faculty member meets the education component of the School of Technology discipline standard through one of three routes:
Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution in technology, engineering, engineering technology; or an earned baccalaureate or higher degree directly related to the program’s discipline And, possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR)
And, two years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);
or
Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution And, possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR)
And five years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);
or
Possesses an earned associate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the program’s discipline
And, possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR)
And three years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);
Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree in a technical/related field. Preferred fields: Electrical engineering, electronics, electronics and computer engineering, industrial engineering, automation. • Embodies a positive, engaged, collaborative professional who works well in teams and individually. • Works effectively in an independent, creative, and proactive manner to complete projects/assignments. • Is student-centric with clear vision of student success strategies and implementation. • Has 3+ years of experience with manufacturing electrical/mechanical work or equivalent work/academic experience. • Has 3+ years of experience with electrical engineering, electronics, automation and controls (i.e., PLC, conveyance, robotics, system integration) or equivalent work/academic experience. • Demonstrated commitment to learning new skills, technologies, and related certifications along with existing professional certifications such as SACA, OHSA, NOCTI. • Demonstrated ability to successfully transfer knowledge to others.
