Assist in maintaining a smooth flow of students within the office at all times and general performance of clerical duties (i.e., answering telephones, taking messages, scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence, etc.). Become familiar with necessary forms utilized by the College, federal, state and local government for college policy, etc.
Provide basic information to students to assist in the completion of related necessary forms and services.
Ensure accuracy of documentation in student files. Relatedly, familiarity with FERPA and other Federal compliance mandates is required.
Serve as a general resource in answering students’ questions.
Respond to requests for information from students and, as directed by the Campus’ Vice Chancellor of Student Success, work closely with him/her to assist in gathering information resulting from requests by outside agencies assuring appropriate documentation is available; generally be responsive to student-related requests, inquiries and needs.
Maintain and update student records (i.e., paper files and/or database files, scanning of information) utilizing the Banner student system as appropriate to the task.
Familiarity and skill with computers and various software packages is required.
Assist in the scheduling of appointments.
Maintain appropriate records and documentation.
Must be available to work evenings and Saturdays as assigned.
Work as a team member of the Campus and Regional Student Success unit.
Other related duties as assigned by Campus Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of Student Success.
Employee reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. Identify Students’ needs and refer them to needed program within college campus (e.g. Disability Support Services) or external facilities (e.g. appropriate Wrap around Service Resource).
Work in concert with Vice Chancellor of Student Success to schedule, coordinate and assist with Administrative tasks as directed.
