General Description of Position:

The IMPACCT Ivy Scholars Program Director is the chief administrator of the program and will manage the program in accordance with college guidelines and policies and follow the donor gift agreement(s) within the Ivy Tech Foundation Evansville campus. The program director will implement and direct all facets of the programs and monitor and evaluate all components of the programs, including managing any additional prospective staff should the program develop further and additional staff be needed.

Major Responsibilities:

Demonstrate a strong customer service and/or student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving and desire to identify and support student success.

Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported.
Go beyond the easiest or surface answer for a student, or an internal or external customer, and get to the root cause of the problem, question or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possible.

Manage the IMPACCT Scholars programs including facilitation of monthly scholar meetings; quarterly Advisory Council meetings; orientation events; coordination of annual End-of-the-Year Celebration, marketing and recruitment, academic transition of graduates, coordination of resources and other events, developing and managing an annual budget and tracking of the program participants.

Coordinate with and advise program participants about ancillary services, which include but are not limited to: financial assistance, career counseling, academic advising, campus and community resources, assessment, mentoring and tutoring.

Provide comprehensive retention management for the program participants, including the teaching of college success skills and service learning.

Collect and track data related to the program participants as well as generate the appropriate internal and external reports for the Ivy Tech Development office.

Recruit and identify qualified program applicants and coordinate the selection of the program participants with the Advisory Council of each program.

Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned. All duties are to be carried out under the guidelines of FERPA.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in a related field (social work, psychology, human resources or education) with three
(3) years of progressive experience in a related field including supervisory experience required; two (2) years of higher education experience required. The position requires the ability to work with a diverse group of students.

The position requires initiative and the ability to make decisions as well as case management knowledge. Successful applicant must possess strong reporting, writing, and editing skills. Successful applicant must be experienced in the use of computers, handling multiple priorities and solving problems.

Special Instructions to Applicants: This is a new privately funded position.  Funding is for three years with possible funding sources after that.
