General Description of Position:

Assists the Director of Employee Health Benefits in the administration and compliance of the College’s health and welfare benefit programs. This may include processing, auditing, and entering statewide employee data into the College’s benefit administration system (IvyBeneftis) and HR/Payroll system (Banner). Assist both the Assistant Vice President of Employee Benefits and Director with open enrollment, benefit administration and special projects as needed.

Major Responsibilities:

Process employee benefit elections and changes in the benefits administration system (IvyBenefits) and the HR/Payroll system (Banner), and corresponding paperwork.

Update IvyBenefits with part-time employee and adjunct faculty termination information.

Process Ticket and Work Status Processing data in IvyBenefits.

Process short and long term disability information.

Communicate with campus Human Resources and various vendors on employee coverage issues.

Prepare insurance paperwork for Systems Office new hire employees.

Maintain and update insurance vendor contact information.

Process vendor invoices.

Process all vendor notices and Evidence of Insurability notices in IvyBenefits and Banner.

Audit health elections within various systems.

Maintain and protect confidentiality of all benefit files assuring validity of current information.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma (or equivalent) with related benefit experience is required.

Proficient in Microsoft’s suite of applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.

Must be self-motivated and possess a strong customer service focus. Demonstrated abilities to determine priorities, organize and process high volume detailed work.

Must be able to compose correspondence and maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.

Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates degree with related benefit experience.
