General Description of Position: Provide program chair oversight with curriculum development, student advising, program enrollment. Provide quality and engaging instruction in all delivery methods and formats within specific academic programs of Industrial Technology, Advanced Automation and Robotics Technology and Smart Manufacturing Digital Intergration; provide timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding the mastery of course and program learning outcomes; engage students outside of class in support of the curriculum and co-curriculum; provide institutional support and community service; participate meaningfully in student retention and completion initiatives; support the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives; conform to campus expectations of faculty performance and engagement.
Major Responsibilities:

INSTRUCTION
Deliver assigned classes in accordance with college loading policy and course objectives.

Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and other course materials.

Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and other documentation as required. Maintain a safe, quality classroom/ lab, including equipment, supplies, inventory and maintenance.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Participates in professional development or other activities that may include in-services, courses, or seminars to advance instructional and technical skills as well as knowledge within the field of study.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
Participate in community service activities on behalf of the college to advance the college's relationships within its service area as appropriate for department/division.

INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT
Provide institutional support as expected by college administration that may include curriculum development, classroom management, accreditation efforts, committee and task force assignments, attendance at commencement or other activities that are college-wide or specific to the division/department of the faculty member.

ADVISING
Provide student advising support as expected by college administration that may include assistance during pre-and regular registration periods and during posted office hours.

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Maintain office hours in accordance with the faculty loading guidelines in the Academic Support Operations Manual (ASOM).

Support Program Chair in program management activities.

OTHER FUNCTIONS
Assist in the recruitment of students.

Develop community/industry contacts.

Assist in the recruitment of students. Develop community/industry contacts. Acquire the necessary Certifications needed to instruct a variety of classes Certifications include but not limited to: MSSC, Siemens Level 1, On line teaching Certification.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction, faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction.

A qualified fulltime faculty member meets the education component of the School of Technology discipline standard through one of three routes:
1. Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution in technology, engineering, engineering technology; or an earned baccalaureate or higher degree directly related to the program’s discipline
And, possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR)
And, two years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);
or
2. Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution
And, possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR)
And, five years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);
or
3. Possesses an earned associate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the program’s discipline
And, possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR)
And, three years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);
Specifically, for the Kokomo service area INDT/AART/SMDI department position we are seeking individuals credentialed and qualified to teach industrial technology mechanical and/or electrical classes and newer technology related to Industry 4.0.

Preferred Qualifications: An Engineering degree and experience or Certifications in Robotics, Automation systems, and Industry 4.0
