General Description of Position:

Cybersecurity Support Analysts will assist and support the CyberRange Lab Manager and provide level 1 front-end support to the participants in the National Security Agency Grant on the tools used and provide tutoring on the labs and materials. The position is part-time and ends with the end of the grant expected to be August 31, 2022. There is a possibility, but not guaranteed, that the grant may be extended beyond this period and if so the position may be extended.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates a strong customer service and/or student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving and desire to identify and support student success.  


  • Engages in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported.  


  • Goes beyond the easiest or surface answer for a participant, CyberRange Lab Manager and faculty or an internal or external customer, and gets to the root cause of the problem, question or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possible.   


  • Provides technical support for users of the virtual lab systems for the NSA grant courses. 


  • Maintains learning materials and equipment in the NSA grant computer labs. 


  • Maintains laptops purchased through the NSA grant for participant use.   


  • Assists the NSA grant Director, CyberRange Lab Manager, and faculty on maintenance of virtual and physical systems, machines, networks, operating systems, applications, and instructional materials to ensure materials and labs meet universal design standards. 


  • Provides tutoring and mentoring of participants. 


  • Assists all grant faculty both internal to Ivy Tech and the consortium partners, and participants with the learning management system.

This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

 SUPERVISION RECEIVED: CyberRange Lab Manager – NSA Grant

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 16 credit hours of technical coursework towards an Certificate or higher in Cybersecurity, IT Support, Software Development, Informatics, Data Analytics, Server Administration, Network Infrastructure or Computer Science required. 


  • Requires good communication skills, excellent computer skills including: Word Processing, Excel Spreadsheets, Database Systems, Presentation, Microsoft Windows 7-10, Windows Server 2016, Linux, Kali, Oracle VirtualBox, VMWare, Cisco networking, and Cybersecurity Labs. 


  • The ability to work as a team member and work under stress. 


  • Be able to process information quickly. 


  • Demonstrate considerable patience and diplomacy. 


  • Able to handle difficult situations to reach positive solutions.  


  • Work on own initiative, and lead and influence others to perform. 


  • Willing to keep current in a rapid changing technology. 


  • Ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one certification from CompTIA A+, CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CyberOps, CCNA, Python Associate, Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Hacking Forensics Investigator or higher.
  • At least one year direct customer support experience, such as waitstaff, delivery, or IT Support.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
