General Description of Position:

The Admissions Recruiter assists in the development and execution of a recruitment plan to build relationships with prospective Ivy Tech Community College students through enrollment.

Major Responsibilities:

Participate in recruiting efforts on- and off-campus including but not limited to: college fairs, high school visits, information events, and community activities within our campus service area. Such events take place both during regular business hours and occasionally after hours (evenings and weekends).

Recruit on behalf of Ivy Tech Hamilton County, sharing and selling the benefits of the Community College in order to increase the number of inquiries and applicants to the College along with the conversion of those inquiries and applicants to help move students through the enrollment process.

Manage, effectively track and recruit potential student groups with the use of a client relationship management (CRM) tool. Use the CRM to assess the effectiveness of various recruitment efforts and adjust based on intake and conversion numbers.

Increase penetration and conversion rates of the Ivy Tech Hamilton County service area high schools, events, territories and dual credit populations.

Understand what resonates with different target audiences and adjust recruitment practices and efforts based on those different audiences.

Assist with the development of collaborative relationships with local K-12 schools, community agencies, local employers and organizations as they relate to the implementation of the campus recruitment plan.

Assist with planning and executing admissions and recruitment messaging via social media for Ivy Tech Hamilton County.

Work closely with internal Ivy Tech personnel to coordinate overall recruitment opportunities effectively. Such personnel may include: marketing departments, Office of K-14 Initiatives, campus cabinet, academic chairs, Career Coaching and Employer Connections Department, 21st Century Scholar representatives.

Assist with the development and inventory management of admissions and recruitment related materials and disseminate such materials in coordination with other regional and statewide communications and recruitment efforts.

Communicate in a timely and professional manner with all internal and external points of contact.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree required.

Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects.

Must possess excellent “people” skills including working successfully with diverse populations, including (but not limited to) college and school personnel, teachers and prospective students, as well as employers and working adults.

Must possess skills and experience in public speaking.

Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

Previous computer experience is required.

Must possess a willingness and an ability to travel and work a flexible schedule that will occasionally include evening and weekend events. Must have reliable mode of transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

Minimum of one to two years of relevant experience demonstrating leadership qualities.

Experience using bilingual skills preferred, particularly Spanish, in a business or education environment.
