General Description of Position: The Hispanic/Latino Student Recruiter assists in building relationships with prospective Ivy Tech Community College students by assisting the admissions department in the development, implementation, and execution of the recruitment plan for the campus. The Hispanic/Latino Recruiter is responsible for participating in recruitment activities on and off-campus.
Major Responsibilities:

1. Participate in recruiting services on- and off-campus; personal contacts; college fairs; middle/high school visits, information events; community activities. This includes both high school and adult oriented events. Events may take place both during regular business hours and after-hours (evenings and weekends). A particular emphasis will be given to those events that are in partnership or have a focus on the Hispanic/Latino populations.

2. Assist with the development of collaborative relationships with on-campus personnel; local schools, colleges/universities, businesses and community agencies and organizations as they relate to the implementation of the campus recruitment plan.

3. Manage, effectively track and recruit potential student groups.  Assess the effectiveness of various recruitment efforts and make adjustments based on data.

4. Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Communicate in a timely and professional manner with all internal and external points of contact.

6. Coordinate recruitment opportunities effectively by working closely with other college personnel to include: marketing, K-14, Accelerated Associate Program (ASAP) staff, student development, and Financial Aid.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to fluently speak Spanish and English.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects.
  • Must possess excellent "people" skills including working successfully with diverse populations, including (but not limited to) college and school personnel, teachers, and prospective students.
  • Must possess willingness and ability to travel and work a flexible schedule that includes some evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one to two years of relevant experience demonstrating leadership qualities preferred.

Work Hours:  
Hiring Range: $15.00-$18.00 per hour based on experience
